From Keith Mashburn:
... Even though Ive been a fireman for 27 years, my best friends and best times are with the motorcycle people.    I didn't know you and Rex real well but I have fond memories of the two of you.   I liked Rex because he was so humble for such a great rider.    I also never knew of him having issues or ego problems like many.    I can't remember when, but I did hear rumor of his passing.   I have a great picture in my mind of the two of you.   He was always smiling and you the pretty dark hair and dark skin wife.  I was so impressed of your apparent love for each other.

From Tim Housman:
Hi.   Just read your messages and stories from website about Rex and the good days of racing.    Enjoyed them alot and brought back smiles and memories of my own.    I was a fan of your husbands and also one of the many novices he gave a little time and advice to.  I was lucky enough to see him win and ride at San Jose and Indy as well as many tracks here in the midwest.  I lived in California for short time before moving back to Indiana and giving pro racing a try.

I was at the Springfield, Ohio opener as a novice in 74 and although I got off pretty hard that day I remember hangin out around Rex and feeling better about about the days events.   He was one of the few "big guys" that would give a novice like my self advice and freindship.   Although my racing career didnt go where I wanted, the times I spent and the people I met I still cherish today.   Being treated with respect by your husband was one of those memories that will always be at the top of the list.   I guess you never know how the little things you do mean to some people.  Enjoyed the letter your grandson wrote as I have grandkids of my own.   Many good times and lots of fun those days.  Thank you for letting me share one of mine with you.   Rex gave us all good memories.

From Barbara Jo Garson-Pinette:
...I met Rex and Audrey Beauchamp in the early 1970's through my boyfriend, motorcycle racer, Chuck Palmgren.    Chuck was a great bike racer in his own right, however, you could count the racers on one hand that Chuck really had respect for, and Rex was one of them.

I had seen racing pictures of Rex and they were all spectacular.   But when I met Rex and Audrey, then I was impressed.   Rex was one of the best to watch.  Audrey became a long time friend.   They were the perfect couple, always lots of laughs at the races and partying afterward.

Rex's style of racing was just plain awesome, he always seemed very comfortable passing on the outside.  Rooster tails, high, wide and handsome, wide f-ing open (WFO).    I can't think of enough adjectives to describe him.

I was so saddened by Rex's passing.  I couldn't imagine seeing Audrey without him.  Those two were (are) deeply in love, joined at the hip, made for each other, soul-mates, you name it.

Audrey and I still laugh today about how Audrey would bring her little flask of tequila to the track and give some to the prima-donna racers girl-friends, then she'd sit back and watch them make asses of themselves all day long.   God, we had fun.

God bless and keep you Rex Beauchamp.   Oh, and Audrey, God bless you my dear friend.  I love you both from the heart and with a tear in my eye.

From Tim:
Please pass this on to Joe.   I enjoy his site and his tribute to Rex is great.   Alot of us who love the sport are lucky to relive those times again.  They were special.

From Joe Baker:
Hello, I never met Rex, but by the looks of his happiness in his photos, he looked like a nice man.  I too, am a flattracker and look at his photos to see how it should be done.  On behalf of a lot of flattrackers in Ohio and in the US, we're sorry for your loss.  I learned of his passing only a few days ago.  I wish I would've been able to meet him.  I'm a fan of Rex and always will be.  One more question, if its not too much.  When did Rex pass away?  Maybe i'll change my number to 31.    Have a nice day.

(Joe Baker is a 14 year old flat track racer from Columbia Station, Ohio)
